Huntington is a town on the North Shore of Long Island and is part
of the New York metropolitan area. Within the town of Huntington
resides the villages of Northport, Lloyd Harbor, Huntington Bay, and
Asharoken along with other communities including South Huntington,
West Hills, Huntington Station, Melville, Halesite, Fort Salonga,
Greenlawn, Elwood, Eatons Neck, East Northport, Dix Hills, Cold
Spring Harbor, Centerport, and Commack. Robert Williams, Richard
Holbrook, and Daniel Whitehead purchased a land parcel in 1653
from the Matinecock tribe of American Native Indians. The three then
turned the land over to other settlers that were living in the area. The
National Civic League named Huntington the All America City in 2002.

Harbor Central School District, Northport-East Northport Union Free
School District, Commack School District, Huntington Union Free
